Survey prize draw terms and conditions

1.    Introduction 

Migration Yorkshire, a service within Leeds City Council, is hosting a prize draw (the “Draw”) on behalf of The Council of the City of Wakefield (“Wakefield Council”) where participants have the chance to win one of the prizes described at point 4 below (the “Prize”). By entering the Draw, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. 

This Draw is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Facebook, X or LinkedIn. Entrants accept and understand that they are providing their information to Migration Yorkshire, and that Facebook, X and LinkedIn have no liability for any element of this Draw. Furthermore, any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Draw will be directed to Migration Yorkshire only. 

Migration Yorkshire seeks to run a fair and secure promotion on behalf of Wakefield Council. If you enter the Draw in a way that is not consistent with these Terms and Conditions, your entry will be disqualified. Any Prize awarded may be void and recoverable. For this reason, Migration Yorkshire and/or Wakefield Council reserves the right at any point to:

  • cancel the Draw or amend these Terms and Conditions without notice; and
  • contact participants for further clarification and verification of information it considers reasonably necessary. Entry or a Prize may be withheld until verification is completed.

2.    Eligibility

The Draw is open to people living in Wakefield district aged 16 and over who moved to the UK from abroad.
Maximum one entry per person.

To be eligible to enter or win in this Draw you must be aged 16 or over.

You may not enter the Draw if you are an employee or relative of an employee of Migration Yorkshire, Leeds City Council or Wakefield Council, or professionally associated with this Draw. 

3.    How to enter

To enter the Draw, participants must satisfy all the specified entry requirements outlined at point 2 above and 

There is no entry fee to enter the Draw. 

4.    Details of the Prizes 

The Prizes are six £25 shopping e-vouchers, and one family art kit. The first six winners drawn will receive a shopping voucher, and the seventh winner drawn will receive the family art kit.

Prizes are subject to availability. Migration Yorkshire and/or Wakefield Council reserve the right to substitute any prize with an alternative prize of equivalent value without giving notice. 

No participant may win more than one prize.

The Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or an alternative in whole or in part. 

5.    Draw details

The opening date for entries is 9am on 24 March 2024 and the closing date is 11pm on 27 May 2024 (the “Draw Period”). Any entries received outside the Draw Period will be void.

The Draw will take place within one week of the closing date of the Draw Period.

Seven provisional winners will be selected randomly using an online generator, from all eligible entries. 

The Draw will be overseen by three employees of Wakefield Council (“the Draw Team”).  The decision of the Draw Team is final and cannot be appealed.

6.    The winners 

All provisional winners will be notified by email sent to their email address provided upon entry within 3 working days of the Draw.
The provisional winners are responsible for replying to the notification email within one week from the date of notification. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the provisional winners. It is the sole responsibility of entrants to check spam/junk folders to ensure they are in receipt of any notifications. If a provisional winner does not respond within the stipulated one-week period, Migration Yorkshire and/or Wakefield Council reserves the right to withdraw the offer of the Prize and award the Prize to another participant who will be selected randomly using an online generator, and the original provisional winner will forfeit their Prize. 

The Prize will be sent as an e-voucher direct to the winner’s email address provided upon entry to the Draw, or one family art kit which Migration Yorkshire will make arrangements to deliver to the winner. Migration Yorkshire will aim to fulfil Prizes promptly but cannot and does not guarantee delivery by a certain date. In the unlikely event that the Prize does not arrive within 30 days of notification the winner must inform Migration Yorkshire by emailing research@migrationyorkshire.org.uk. If a winner does not do so, Migration Yorkshire and/or Wakefield Council reserves the right to not reissue the Prize or limit its value at its sole discretion. 

Neither Migration Yorkshire nor Wakefield Council is responsible or liable in the event that a winner deletes the email containing the e-voucher prior to use or does not redeem the e-voucher prior to it expiring.

7.    Limitation of Liability 

Neither Migration Yorkshire, Leeds City Council nor Wakefield Council accept any responsibility or liability for any damage, loss, injury, illness or disappointment of any kind suffered by any person in relation to this Draw and/or use of their Prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law and their interpretation and application will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

8.    Privacy Statement

Personal information provided for administration of the Draw will be used in accordance with Migration Yorkshire’s Privacy Policy and the privacy notice for the Health and Wellbeing in Wakefield survey
