Influences on decision making by new refugees
Are you a person who has been granted refugee status through the asylum system and based in Hull?
If so, we would like to hear about the choice you made about where to live after.
Who is conducting the research?
We are researchers from Leeds Beckett University and Migration Yorkshire, working with partner organisations including the Hull Local Authority. Migration Yorkshire is an organisation that supports people and organisations to achieve the most positive outcomes of migration for everyone in the region.
What is the research for?
It aims to help Local Authorities and others to support refugee resettlement in the future.
We know that once they have been given permission to stay in the UK, people often have to find accommodation quickly. We understand this can be hard so we want to understand from your experience what influences your decisions about housing and where you live after receiving the news about your asylum application.
How can I take part?
If you are interested in speaking to us, please contact Migration Yorkshire at research@migrationyorkshire.org.uk who will organise a confidential interview with a member of our research team. The interview will last up to one hour and can be online or in person if you prefer, and we can arrange an interpreter if needed.
To thank you for taking part in the research, you will receive a £25 gift voucher.
