You can now see the initial results of our 2025 opinion poll, where we asked a representative sample of residents in Yorkshire and Humber their views about migration and community cohesion. The findings build on previous polls we ran in 2020 and 2023.

Where we’d previously asked the same question, people’s views have become a little more negative overall. We also asked some new questions, including how far people taking part in protests at hotels speak for anyone else, and everyday experiences of meeting people who have moved into the area from overseas.

We’re sharing the headline figures now, and plan to release further analysis in the coming months.

You can explore the initial findings on this ‘What Yorkshire folk think about migration’ webpage as a slideshow, tables, and in a downloadable spreadsheet. Results are explored further in a briefing on this webpage: ‘Key findings from the 2025 Migration Yorkshire opinion poll’.
