Privacy notice: mailing list for the Hong Kong Welcome Programme in Yorkshire and Humber

What is this mailing list for?

This mailing list is primarily for Hongkongers and their family members arriving to the UK via British National Oversees [BNO] visa route. We circulate information relevant to the Hong Kong Welcome Programme to people on the mailing list, such as:

  • Updates on the development of the programme in Yorkshire and Humber.
  • New information added to our Hong Kong hub.
  • Details of our forthcoming events and ways of getting involved.
  • Information about new projects and support available in your area.

We send emails regularly, approximately once a month.

How can I subscribe to the mailing list?

Your personal information only be accessible to our staff working on the Hong Kong Welcome Programme; we won’t share it outside Migration Yorkshire.

Our purposes for collecting your personal information are:

  • to send you relevant information
  • to administer the mailing list
  • to better understand the number and destination of the BNO status holders in the UK, for effective delivery of the Hong Kong Welcome Programme

The legal basis we are relying on for processing your personal data is your explicit consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, and to ask that we delete the data: to do this, please contact us at Migration Yorkshire, either by email at or by phone on 0113 3788188.

Your details will be held in accordance with UK data protection legislation. We’ll keep your personal data on our records till the end of December 2022; after this we’ll securely destroy it, unless we have obtained further consent from you to keep them for longer.

Migration Yorkshire is based in Leeds City Council, and the council is the data controller for the information you provide.
