Please note that this is a 2-part session running over two consecutive days. Please register for both sessions.

This session focuses on the geography and history of Afghanistan, as well as the experiences of Afghans in conflict. It also addresses the services (including education and healthcare) that Afghans may be accustomed to and their expectations regarding access to these services in Afghanistan. Additionally, the session provides a brief overview of the experiences of Afghans in displacement and an introduction to the Afghanistan Relocation Assistance Policy (ARAP). This session is participatory and relies heavily on participant engagement through case studies and discussions.

Afghan cultural norms, practices, family, and social life. It also explores IOM’s pre-departure support to beneficiaries, including United Kingdom Cultural Orientation (UKCO) and Cultural Adjustment. Like the previous session, this one is also participatory and relies heavily on participant engagement through case studies and discussions.
