Privacy notice
Migration Yorkshire will not collect any personal data from the survey.
Your answers will be anonymous and any comments or remarks entered in the free format fields cannot be linked or attributed to you.
Migration Yorkshire will ask for your data optionally. This is so we can enter you into the survey’s prize draw. Please find detailed information about how this data is processed below.
The types of data we’ll collect
If you choose to participate in the prize draw, we will collect:
- Your e-mail address
If you are selected, we will make email contact with you to provide you with your prize (please see terms and conditions for further details). We might also ask you to provide confirmation of your age, BN(O) status and residence in the Yorkshire and Humber region to validate the entry requirements. This information will not be shared with any third parties.
Our purposes for collecting your data
The legal basis we rely upon for processing your personal email address and entering you into the survey prize draw is your consent, as per Article 6a of the UK GDPR legislation; the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes”. The purposes are to manage and administer the prize draw, including to notify you if you are a winner.
Furthermore, when we award the prize (voucher) to the winner the legal basis we rely upon is Article 6b of the UK GDPR legislation: the performance of a contract between Migration Yorkshire and the winner.
For financial record keeping and audit purposes, the legal basis we rely upon is Article 6e of the UK GDPR legislation: processing is necessary for the authority to perform a task in the public interest or for our official functions, and the task or function has a clear basis in law.
How long we’ll keep your data
We will keep your data for up to 3 weeks after the end of the survey, which is 11pm 10th December, to administer the draw. Once all prizes have been claimed, data of non-winning participants will be deleted immediately. Data of the winners will be retained for general audit purposes for 6 years, after the financial year end in which the record was created, because we have a legal obligation to do so under the Local Government Act 2003.
You can contact us if you would like to withdraw your consent and your data deleted sooner. However, if you withdraw your consent sooner, you will be automatically withdrawn from the prize draw.
