Introduction to Asylum

In this session we delve into asylum issues, looking at legislation and processes, what support asylum seekers can receive, and unpick the roles and responsibilities of agencies supporting them.
This training is suitable for people who may have no or little knowledge of asylum and those who want to increase their understanding.
Aims and Outcomes:
Understand the current UK asylum system and corresponding legislation.
Identify some of the key current issues relating to asylum.
Understand key sources of data and information.
Understand some of the challenges that can affect asylum seekers and communities with asylum seekers, and how organisations may respond to some of these challenges.
