Privacy notice - how we will handle your information when you enquire about being a volunteer with us

The reasons we use your data

If you contact us to ask about being a volunteer with us, or to ask for an application pack, we’ll treat the personal information you give us as confidential and we’ll use it only to tell you about volunteering. We will securely destroy your data within 6 months of your enquiry, unless you go on to apply to be a volunteer with us.

Why we are allowed to use your data

We will process your personal data with your agreement – legally, we rely on your consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time and/or to request that we delete your data. To do either of these things, please email us on  or telephone us on 0113 378 8188.

Who is the data controller for the personal data we collect from you?

Migration Yorkshire is based in Leeds City Council, and the council is the data controller for the information you provide. Details of your rights under UK data protection legislation, including details of the council’s Data Protection Officer, your rights as a data subject, and your right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office are available here:
