Information we ask for

If you contact us to offer help for refugees, we’ll ask you for your name and contact details and details of how you can help.

How we'll handle and share your data

We'll store this information securely and handle it in line with UK data protection legislation.

We'll share the information you provide with other people and organisations, so they can process your offer. They may also use your information for their own purposes. These other people include:

  • councils
  • supporting organisations working with councils and/or that might be wanting offers of help or donations

Our legal basis for processing your personal data

The legal basis Leeds City Council [Migration Yorkshire] relies on for processing your personal data is to carry out a public task.

How long will Migration Yorkshire keep your personal data?

We'll keep your data till we have processed your offer and for up to two months afterwards. We'll then securely delete it, unless you’ve asked us to keep it for some reason, for example till another agency can take up your offer, or to be included on a mailing list.
