You're invited! Yorkshire and Humber VCS engagement day

News item 03 October 2019:

We're are holding an engagement day for voluntary and community sector organisations that are supporting migrants in Yorkshire and Humber.

Programme

Join us to review the progress since the last VCS Engagement Day in May 2019, and engage on a variety of issues including AAST and AIRE contracts and the EU Settlement Scheme. A full agenda will be circulated closer to the event.

There will be a choice of workshops in the afternoon:

  • Using policy updates and data for funding and campaigning  We’ll be looking at what policy updates, briefings and data Migration Yorkshire can share, and how you can couple this with your own knowledge and stats to create robust funding bids and campaigns. Dr Pip Tyler [Policy and Research Manager] and Vicky Ledwidge [Integration and Partnerships Officer], both from Migration Yorkshire, will be delivering this interactive session.
  • The Brexit conversation  At the time of writing, we don’t know what is happening with Brexit – whether we’ll leave on 31st October, or with a deal or not. Nevertheless, we are talking about it! Azzizum Akhtar [Director, Rema], and Mary Brandon [Campaign Project Manager, Asylum Matters] will host this session.
  • Looking after yourself and your team  Solace will share tips and techniques about self-care, and how to look after your staff and volunteers – an important topic in these stressful times.
